Preston Playhouse Theatre

It’s been a while since our last blog very busy gigging lately and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Cliff..as if & The Shaduows had a fantastic night at The Preston Playhouse Theatre from the feedback we got the audience really enjoyed themselves. Will Chandler (Cliff as if) got everybody involved and participating along with our tribute to The Shadows that went down an absolute storm as well.

We all thought that our two hour show went so fast, it felt like five minutes can’t wait to do the next one.

We would like to thank a few people without whom it would not have been possible.

Thanks to: Roy Fitzpatrick, Alex Tagg, Liam and Alan (Steve, Rock fm, Radio Lancashire, Chorley FM, and the Lancashire Evening Post. And also all the family, friends and Fans that travelled all the way to Preston to see us.

Shadowmania 2011

Just a couple of days to go and we will be at our first Shadowmania 2011, performing ourselves on the Friday 16th and looking forward to a great weekend.

It will be great to meet some like minded fans who share a common interest in Cliff and The Shadows music and we also look forward to hearing them perform too.

Not only is it going to be a great weekend, it will be a fitting tribute to Legend Jet Harris who sadly passed away in March 2011, a star that shone so brightly and will be remembered by everyone for years to come, this event will be a fitting tribute to his legacy as the original Bass Player with The Shadows.

The Secret Garden Party The Manor at Elswick

Its been a while since our last Blog, we have been very, very, busy and most recently we performed at the Secret Garden Party at The Manor at Elswick.......shhhhhh don't tell anyone its a secret!

This prestigious event laid on by Scott Jay Marks (thanks for letting us gig in your garden), Lowri Williams and hosted by Jean Parkes and Mal Ford of Personality Entertainments Agency, and was a full day of entertainment from comedians such as Mick Miller to west-end and stage performer Scott Jay Marks and stars from Britains Got Talent and The X Factor, tribute acts, and of course ourselves The Shaduows who performed for three major charity events that day such as (Parkinsons UK, Meningitis Trust uk, and Children of Watamu, Kenya).

Sorry if weve missed anyone but there were really too many Artistes to list, we met some really friendly lovely people and we can't wait to do it all again next year.
At this point we must thank Jonathan who spent all day grafting from 08:00am till about 2:00am on the setting up of the fantastic stage and PA system and putting it all away again, I'm sure everyone will agree without him this would not have been possible.....Thanks mate.

We had a fantastic response from the crowd who really where enjoying every moment and some people were really dressed for the occasion I'm talking about the ones who had flowers in their hair (theres a song there).It was like a small Glasdonbury.

This event is going to be even bigger next year as this is the first one of its kind around the Blackpool area so please make sure you come to the best PARTY in town all in aid of Charity next year.

Cliff and The Shadows Convention Broxbourne Civic Hall

We did it and what a day!

The day started as very relaxed we managed to pop down to the Broxbourne Civic Hall and check out the venue still showing signs of the previous nights event a wedding and it was a lovely place we thought, very laid back and beautiful gardens.

Spoke to the senior sound and light technician who was more than helpful along with his technicians they did a fantastic job thank-you very much.

Whilst setting up on stage we where welcomed by one of the original Bass players that played with The Shadows Brian “Licorice” Locking and also Alan Jones who really made us both feel welcome, and they are without doubt two of the nicest people in the Business.

We opened up the show and had a great response we really enjoyed playing for everyone; it was also an honour to play for Cliff’s sister Joan and his niece Lindsey.

Julie Montgomery agent and organiser for the first Cliff and Shadows convention read out a personal message from Sir Cliff who thanked everyone and gave his best wishes to us all and said he was sorry he couldn’t be there but was with us all in spirit.

Thank you Julie and Jimmy it was a pleasure and an honour to be part of this show.

What a weekend can't wait for the next Cliff and Shadows convention.
